I talked to a regular customer today. He is a very inspired landscape architect and also does high end extensions. His name is Patrick, I always forget to ask him about his last name. Nevertheless, he loves his work and is very diverse on projects. I asked him about spa. We sat down for about an hours and he told me about how some produces drive the design. An example that he was SOD. He was doing a golf club's house extension and was dealing with the landscaping. However, he suggested to use his products which was 1/3 more costly, but it worked. Long story short, the customer used the cheaper guys and it fail. He ended up using the better product and in turn doubled the amount of money he used. Furthermore, he showed some of his ideas for spa that he has done before and what he thought was really important to him.
Water was really important to him. He gave examples of award winning designs and exampled how simple they are, but they work. He also explained a lot of picture in elevation / sections. Which I never really thought about. Furthermore, some of his bath and pool ideas are crazy. However, he told me if I have a good idea just do it.
Lighting was another interesting thing that he talked about for a long time. I looked into it. He worked with ICON, which is located in NW D.C. (the website --------->) http://www.icondc.com/home.html wow I got so many more ideas about spas and water from this lighting company. They are also in connection to http://www.alliancelighting.us/ and http://www.allianceshading.com/
