The Metropol Parasol

This is another structure that I am using as inspiration. I read up on the person that design it. And it started with cardboard boxes and interlocking them together. That reminds me of a project that some architecture college / design have to do and design a chair.

Click the line to see more pictures. It is hard to really get a good sense of scale, but believe me this place is massive.

The wood and lighting makes the design pop. Furthermore, the small fixtures makes the place appear to be grand. I love the lines created from the wood and how the contrast to one another. Looks clean.

Looks real clean. I loved the chair and eye concept. I did not see it at first, but it is there. I also like the building foot print it is not a box. Looks modern.

Idea cont. part 3

Other spa that I thought has some good ideas

This spa is located in New York and have very high ratings.

This is an idea that I want to do. I want a gazebo like structure with a tarp like cloth on top. Furthermore, with the ropes people are able to pull and change the flow of water.

Schematic package.

This is one schematic package that I really liked. The section above will need another section to fully explain what I am trying to explain on the right side. I wanted an infinity pool on the second level and the water that is run off from the infinity pool is to fall into the entrance's pond. I want to emphasize the entrance to my spa.

learning how to schematic 1

It has been a long time since I have been here, but I have been working hard at work, school, and my new OLD car an AE86 which have been taking up a lot of my time. This is my first schematic design is a concept that had a lot of order. The idea was light going through the beams and those beams depicted where the walls were going to be. Furthermore, the walls forces people to walk and interact in an interesting way. Our assignment was to use what we thought our functional adjacency diagram was in our program was and then incorporate that into our concept. What I believe a functional adjacency diagram was the rooms and the activities in the rooms. So, below was my first shot at this. Many more to come...
This was the basic layout I got from my concept.

1st floor of the schematic.
2nd floor of the schematic

More detailed and in some type of scale. First floor.

 2nd floor
East and West Elevations
 North and South Elevations

Picture of the rebuilt model will be posted when I get can get a camera.
